KATIE KIRKPATRICK

Kathryn Nash Kirkpatrick Stephenson died on Feb. 6, 2012, in Deer Lodge. Katie was born in Butte on April 30, 1946. She is the beloved daughter of William M. and Isabelle (McCarthy) Kirkpatrick.

She received her education at Immaculate Conception Grade School, and graduated from Sacred Heart Academy in Menlo Park, Calif. Upon returning to Butte, she attended Butte Business College.

Katie raised her three children, Sam, Bill and Stephanie in Butte.

She was a part owner of Metals Bank Restaurant where she worked for several years, and was later employed at Teleperformance. Katie was also the caregiver for her aunt, Rufina Kirkpatrick for several years.

She spent many summers with her great-aunt and cousins in Glacier Park. She enjoyed reading throughout her life and had a soft heart for all animals, especially those in need of a temporary home.

Katie is survived by her sons, Sam Stephenson IV, of Butte, Bill and Judy Stephenson of Anaconda; and her daughter and son-in-law, Stephanie and Steve Sheperdson of Singapore. She is also survived by her aunt, Rufina Kirkpatrick of Butte; step-mother, Mary Pat Kirkpatrick; half-brothers, Jim, Paul and John Kirkpatrick and their families; and her good friend and caregiver, Sue Hiltz of Deer Lodge.
